What is Telehealth Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

Telehealth physical therapy, also known as virtual or remote physical therapy, is a form of healthcare delivery that allows individuals to receive physical therapy services through video conferencing or other online communication platforms. Instead of attending in-person sessions at a clinic or healthcare facility, patients can interact with me in real-time from the convenience of their own homes.

Why Choose Telehealth Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy as a preferred option for your treatment?

First and foremost, telehealth offers convenience and accessibility. With telehealth, you can receive pelvic floor physical therapy from the comfort of your own home, eliminating the need for travel and reducing time spent in waiting rooms. This can be beneficial for individuals with…

  • Busy schedules

  • You live in an area with limited access to specialized pelvic floor physical therapy care

  • You want to limit your commute (i.e. maybe you have pain with sitting)

  • You just had surgery or in the early stages of postpartum

  • Limited childcare

…this can be a great service for you!

Some other reasons you may consider Telehealth include:

  • It provides privacy and discretion.

  • It can be a great way to build a rapport with your pelvic floor physical therapist especially with how vulnerable it can be talking about pelvic floor issues.

  • Receive expert care regardless of geographical location. Just must be in state of California.

  • Research has found patients playing a more active role in their own care.

  • Cost savings.

For further explanation of these benefits, continue below…

Telehealth provides privacy and discretion. When experiencing pelvic floor issues it can be vulnerable and personal, and some individuals may feel more comfortable discussing their concerns in the privacy of their own environment. Telehealth allows for confidential one-on-one consultations with me, ensuring a safe and secure space for open communication without the fear of judgment or embarrassment.

Another advantage is the ability to receive expert care regardless of geographical limitations. You can connect with a highly qualified pelvic floor specialist from anywhere in the state of California, expanding your options and increasing the likelihood of finding the most suitable therapist for your specific needs.

Research has found that patients in telehealth sessions have played a more active involvement in their own care. During virtual sessions, I can guide you through exercises, provide real-time feedback, and demonstrate proper techniques via video call. This interactive approach allows for immediate adjustments, ensures that you are performing exercises correctly, and builds confidence and independence, maximizing the effectiveness of your therapy.

Lastly, telehealth pelvic floor physical therapy often offers cost savings. Without the need for transportation or facility fees, telehealth sessions can be more affordable compared to in-person visits.

Overall, choosing telehealth for pelvic floor physical therapy provides convenience, accessibility, privacy, expert care, active involvement, and potential cost savings. With its numerous benefits, telehealth emerges as an attractive and effective option for individuals seeking quality pelvic floor therapy from the comfort of their own homes.
